Aakriti Rawal is a young and passionate entrepreneur who embarked on a journey in August 2020 with her mother, Poonam Rawal, who expressed her concern for an artisan she knew. It was during the pandemic that Aakriti was introduced to the art of Chikankari, a delicate and intricate embroidery style from Lucknow that has been passed down through generations of artisans in her family.
Aakriti's education at King's College London and Imperial College London equipped her with the skills and knowledge needed to make a difference. With her mother's passion and her marketing expertise, they set out to create House of Chikankari to showcase the beauty of this embroidery style from Lucknow to the world.
