This fungus helps to enhance the yield and plant productivity, while reducing the need for chemical fertilizer inputs. The focus of Symbiotic Sciences has been Mycorrhizal technology and its applications. Using this product, farmers could reverse the negative impacts of over-reliance on chemical fertilizers and other chemical inputs. This would not only reduce the burden on land but also encourage a more sustainable approach to broader agricultural practices and plant growth. While the success of Symbiotic Sciences has been undeniable, there was still another venture for Mr. Rakesh Malhotra to achieve his ultimate vision.

Starting out in the cable industry, Mr. Rakesh Malhotra co-founded India’s largest specialized cable manufacturing company. As the Managing Director of this company he took the company public in 2008. After having spent over 30 years in the cable industry, Mr. Rakesh Malhotra ventured into his passions at the intersection of agriculture and biotechnology.
It is very clear for everyone to see that in the past decade, land and other natural resources have increasingly come under stress. Climate change, population growth and lack of technical advancements are just a few of the factors that have exacerbated the problem in India. Agricultural practices have remained archaic and an over-reliance on chemical fertilizers, insecticides and pesticides have greatly degraded the quality of available land. To rectify this situation, Mr. Rakesh Malhotra co-founded Symbiotic Sciences.
