Nilaanjan Datta
Post Graduate

Nilaanjan Datta, after graduating in Economics from Pune University, he joined the oldest and the renowned film school of India and one of the finest in the world, Film and Television Institute of India, (FTII, Pune), in the year 2000. After graduating with distinction from FTII, he Directed his first National Film award winning Documentary film “Bhanga Gara” which was funded by United Nation Development Programme (UNDP).

Later in his career, Nilaanjan delved into spreading the knowledge of cinema and he went on to become the Head of Academics at his alma mater FTII. While teaching students of cinema, his passion for making meaningful films continued and he Directed his First Feature film “The Head Hunter”, in the year 2015. “The Head Hunter” went on to win many accolades across the world including National Film award of India and Best screenplay from Mexico International Film festival. He has also been awarded Best Debut Direction Jury at the 25th Aravindan Purushkaram, Kerala for “The Head Hunter”.
