The company uses the sponge iron (DRI) route, a highly efficient technology for producing iron and steel. This method utilizes locally available non-coking coal and iron ore, which are abundant in India, offering a significant advantage over other technologies that require imported coking coal. As a result, India has become self-reliant in steel production through the use of the indigenous sponge iron intermediary route.
