Pierian Services was founded in 2002 as a new age Consulting and Managed Services company, established by a team of Professionals and Industry experts. Today, Pierian is a global business services company that successfully integrates People, Process and Technology. Guru, a 1991 batch Chartered Accountant is a serial entrepreneur. Soon after qualifying, he, along with Chetan formed the CA firm, Chetan & Gurunath, which is now known as CGS & Co.
Thereafter, in 1999, joined Motorola as the Country Head of Compliance and went on to become head of Shared Services in India.
While at Motorola, he was responsible for Direct and Indirect Taxes for two legal entities spanning 5 Business Units. He was instrumental in putting together the Transfer Pricing structure for the legal entity – when the TP regulations was rolled out by the 2002 Finance Act.
In 2002, after resigning from Motorola, he Co-founded Pierian Services – a Company he has been associated since then and help expand the Company’ operations into beyond Finance & Accounting sphere.
Over the last 20 years, he as spearheaded very large engagements and helped co-invest into multi-specialty service offerings covering, Technology, Business Analytics, Process re-definition and Strategic Advisory. The group today, with its offices in India, Singapore, Middle East and significant client concentration in the USA employs over 1,400 full time employees.
