Mrs. Anitha Unnithan is the Managing Director of Sankar NP Japan Pvt. Ltd. She completed her schooling at Mater Dei Convent School, Delhi, and graduated as a Gold Medalist in History from Women’s Christian College, Chennai. She also holds an MBA in Marketing from Madras University.
Her career began at the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) as a Management Trainee at Bhilai Steel Plant, excelling in the Materials Department before transferring to SAIL’s Central Marketing Organisation in Calcutta. There, she became the first female officer in the Shipping and Transport Department. She was recognized as a “Young Achiever” and eventually rose to Regional Manager (South) of SAIL’s Chemical & Fertilizer Division. After 24 years of service, she resigned as Assistant General Manager, leading the Southern Region for Special Steels.
Mrs. Unnithan then transitioned to the family business as Director Commercial of Sankar Sealing Systems Pvt. Ltd., where she implemented systematic operations. She currently leads Sankar NP Japan Pvt. Ltd., a joint venture with Royal Industries of Japan. Under her leadership, the company has grown eightfold in a decade and is now a leading provider of two-wheeler sealing solutions in India and beyond.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Mrs. Unnithan is actively involved in social work. She is a Charter Member of the Rotary Club of Madras Industrial City and engages with several organizations, including Chinmaya Mission, Mata Amritanandamayi Math, NSS Association, and Kerala Samajam.
