Mr. K. Selvamani, B.E (Hons.), FIE., FIV., is the Managing Director of Standard Rehabilitators Pvt. Ltd. in Neyveli. Born on August 1, 1955, in Kurinjipadi, Tamil Nadu, he graduated with honors in Civil Engineering from the College of Engineering, Guindy (Anna University, Chennai). He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers and Institution of Valuers and a member of several professional bodies including the Indian Concrete Institute and American Concrete Institute.
Mr. Selvamani began his career as a Planning Engineer at Larsen & Toubro Ltd., ECC Construction Group, and later worked for M/s. Eastern Ltd. in Sharjah and Baghdad. In 1986, he founded Standard Builders to contribute to India's industrial growth. The company specialized in repairing, rehabilitating, and strengthening RCC structures and high-rise buildings like chimneys and cooling towers, becoming known for its innovative techniques and high-quality work. Notably, Selvamani developed a unique scaffolding method for RCC chimney repairs, leading to significant savings. His company has also executed comprehensive repairs of Natural Draft Cooling Towers and rehabilitated the most RCC chimneys in India.
In 2010, the firm became Standard Rehabilitators Pvt. Ltd., with Selvamani as Managing Director and his family as directors. His children, both civil engineers, continue the family’s professional legacy.
