Introduction
Pallia Trans Logistics Pvt. Ltd. traces its roots to the small town of Pallia, located near the India-Nepal border in Uttar Pradesh. The company’s journey began in the early 1960s when a locally founded enterprise, Pallia Transport Co., started catering to the logistics needs of farmers in the region. Initially engaged in sugarcane transportation and passenger bus services, the company marked a significant milestone in 1983 when Maruti Udyog commenced its operations in Gurgaon, Haryana. Pallia Transport became one of the first players to introduce organized car carrier services in India, handling outbound and CKD transportation from Kandla Port.
The business was established by Mr. Goverdhan Lal Nanda in 1983, who led it until his passing in 1998. Thereafter, Mr. Vipul Nanda took over the leadership and continued to expand the company’s vision. In 2008, when the Mercurio Group of Italy sought to establish operations in India, they found an ideal partner in Mr. Vipul Nanda. This collaboration led to the creation of Mercurio Pallia Logistics Pvt. Ltd. (MPL) in March 2009, marking the first-ever partnership between an international logistics company and an Indian partner.
MPL was formed as a 50:50 joint venture between Gruppo Mercurio SPA (GM SPA) of Italy and Pallia Transport Co. Pvt. Ltd. (PTC) of India. GM SPA, a globally recognized leader in automotive logistics, was later acquired by the GEFCO Group in May 2011 — a worldwide logistics provider with a turnover of 4 billion euros, 11,000 employees, and daily distribution of 19,000 vehicles. Following this acquisition, MPL became a proud member of the GEFCO Group.

Mr. Vipul Nanda, Chairman and Managing Director of Pallia Trans Logistics Pvt. Ltd., is a seasoned entrepreneur with over three decades of experience in the transportation and logistics industry. He is the founder and driving force behind Mercurio Pallia Logistics, now known as Pallia Trans Logistics, which has established itself as a leader in the automotive logistics sector. In addition to his corporate achievements, he serves as the President of the Car Carrier Association (CCA) of India, an organization overseeing more than 15,000 car carrier transport vehicles across the country.
Mr. Nanda is also the founder of eee-Taxi, an innovative E-Mobility Solutions Company that provides electric taxi services to leading corporates, contributing significantly to sustainable transportation and pollution reduction efforts in India. Beyond his business ventures, he remains actively engaged in agricultural activities in his hometown of Pallia, Uttar Pradesh, reflecting his deep connection to his roots and commitment to community development.
