Agni Rakshak Private Limited (ARPL) is a fire detection and protection engineering company that provides design, engineering, supply, supervision, erection, and commissioning services for the fire-fighting industry across India and abroad. The company serves diverse sectors such as refineries, petrochemicals, power plants, and mining and mineral industries. It has successfully executed fire-fighting projects for leading clients, including ONGC, IOCL, BPCL, NTPC, Coal India Ltd., Hindustan Zinc Ltd., Aditya Birla Hindalco, Reliance, and GSFC. Known for its consistent performance and dependable service, ARPL has earned the trust of its clients, resulting in long-term relationships and repeat business.
Established in 2000 as a proprietary firm by Mr. Praful Birje and Mrs. Padma Birje, who together brought over six decades of experience in the fire-fighting industry, ARPL evolved from a small consulting firm into a private limited company in 2016. With years of growth and expertise, the founders are now transitioning leadership to the next generation, as their son continues the legacy with renewed vision and commitment.
In 2025, the company expanded into manufacturing with the introduction of the Explosion Relief Valve Assembly (ERVA), a critical component in fire water spray systems for fixed roof tanks in refineries and chemical industries. As one of the few manufacturers of ERVA in India, ARPL has applied for a patent for this product.

Mr. Prafulla Nathuram Birje
BE in Mechanical Engineering
Mr. Praful Birje is a Mechanical Engineer with 35 years of extensive experience in fire detection and protection engineering. He graduated from Victoria Jubilee Technical Institute (VJTI), Mumbai, one of Asia’s most reputed and oldest engineering institutions. Beginning his career in 1982 as a Fire Detection and Protection Design Engineer, he advanced to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) in 2011 within the fire-fighting industry.
From August 1982 to September 1998, Mr. Birje worked with Vijay Fire Protection Systems (P) Ltd., where he joined as a Design Engineer and rose to the position of Senior Project Manager. During this period, he handled the design and commissioning of fire detection and protection systems for oil, gas, and power generation projects.
Between October 1998 and May 2008, he served at Gunnebo India Ltd., a Swedish multinational that had taken over Steelage Industries Ltd. He joined as Assistant General Manager, was later promoted to National Sales Manager, and eventually became Head of Proposals and Engineering.
From June 2008 to February 2011, Mr. Birje worked with United Technologies Corporation (UTC), a U.S.-based multinational that had acquired Kidde Worldwide. He joined Kidde India Ltd. as National Sales Manager and continued in the same role under UTC, leading pre-engineering and sales operations for industrial and commercial fire detection and protection systems.
From February 2011 to April 2014, he was associated with HD Fire Protect (P) Ltd. as Chief Operating Officer (COO), where he established the company’s Fire Protection System Integration Division as an extension of its manufacturing business. Under his leadership, the company successfully executed integration projects in the oil, gas, power generation, and distribution sectors.
Throughout his career, Mr. Birje has maintained his core expertise in the design and engineering of fire detection and protection systems. He is a proficient designer of intelligent fire detection and alarm systems, as well as water-based and gas-based fire suppression systems. After leaving HD Fire Protect, Thane, as COO, he founded Agni Rakshak Pvt. Ltd., continuing his mission to advance innovation and excellence in fire safety engineering.
